Daily Devotion—-Make The Most of Time

Where is the wise man (the philosopher)? Where is the scribe (the scholar)? Where is the investigator (the logician, the debater)? of the present time and age? Has not God shown up the nonsense and the folly of this world’s wisdom?

                           I  Corinthians 1:20

In Ephesians 5:15-17 God’s Word says that we are to live purposefully, using wisdom as sensible, intelligent people. This means to make the most of of the time we are given. Equal time is given to all, but we don’t always use wisdom to keep from wasting it.

We are to buy up every opportunity we can to fulfill our purpose on Earth, which is to love God, and others. Verse 17 says, “Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is.” Get alone with God to make sure you know how to use your time today.

I am so wasting time. I need to do something with my life to serve God. I want to be a teacher.  I would love to teach children about God and how good He is. I need to go back to school and quit wasting time.
