I was sitting here feeling sorry for myself because Steve has to work tonight. When midnight hits I can only cuddle my Princess. If she is not already asleep. I got to thinking about it and I have nothing to feel sorry for myself about. 2008 has been a great year.

  • We got our own home, when so many people are losing theirs.
  • We have not lost one person in our family.
  • My Dad made it through another year, there was a point where we were not sure if he would make it through 2007.
  • Steve has finally found a good job that he likes. It took a couple of tries, but he is now a happy little camper.
  • We have gotten right with the Lord.
  • We got to see an African American elected president. I may not agree with his politics, but he is still a history making president.
  • Gas prices soared to new heights then dropped like a rock.( Thank You Lord)
  • We have found a church family that is awesome.
  • Steve and I’s relationship is stronger and we are closer than we have ever been.
  • Mom and Dad living here and no major problems.( Thank You Lord)
  • We found our missing niece, who has had 2 boys in her years being away from the family.

Yes we have had our downs, but are highs outweigh those by so much

  • Mom winding up in the hospital 2 times.
  • Being thrown out of our duplex because it was foreclosed on. (That was how we started the new year)(Mind you we were renters!!)
  • Patty ending up in the hospital.
  • Steve being fired twice and quitting 2 other jobs.

Really those are all I can think of. Like I said the good more than out weighs the bad. I hope you all have a wonderful new year and please be safe. May God bless all of you this year. Here’s to a great, safe, happy, healthy, and spiritual 2009!!!

I really wish I had my camera with me earlier when I was in town but I did not have it on me so will will just have to believe me. Gas is below the TWO dollar mark. Gas at the Wally World gas station was $ 1.95 wholy moly. Prices have fell almost a dollar this week!!!! Diesel is also coming down, but much more slowly.

We have a little problem. Well really it is a bunch of little problems, we have rodents,of the mice variety. I hate mice. They are gross and yucky!!! We have caught six in the traps. We found one in the dog food bowl earlier today. GROSS!  We live out in the country and have lots of fields around us so I know they are looking for a warm place to bed in for the winter, but I have news for them they are not living in this house!!!!! I have the hebbie gibbies just thinking about them.

WOW oh WOW!!!! We went by Wally World earlier this afternoon and gas was at $3.14(which was down from last night by about 10 cents) After our movie we went back to Wally World to get some stuff and gas was at are you ready for this… was at $2.99!!! Under 3 dollars yippee!!!! Then we got out of Wally World and noticed in the 30 mins we were inside gas had fallen again to $2.97. Holy Moly people. This makes me excited!!!!

Anywayz……Steve called me this morning and told me to not eat anything cause he is taking me out. We had such a great time. We went and had our favorite restaurant Mexican Inn. Then he took me to Half Price Books. I got a Jodi Picoult book called Keeping Faith. She is a wonderful author. I also got a Janet Evanovich book called Plum Lucky. This author is so darned funny!!! There are not many books that really make me laugh out loud but hers do. After that we went to the movies. We saw Fireproof. If this movie is in your theater go see it. Take your spouse. It is about a married couple fixing to get a divorce and the husband takes what is called a love dare and it last 40 days. It ends up saving their marriage. This movie is not getting a lot of advertisement because it is a Christian movie so go see it then tell a friend. NO cussing, no sex it is very family friendly with older kids. It is a great movie!!!!

A couple of weeks ago Steve’s Mom gave us a 55 gallon fish tank. Well we got some fishies for it. I think we have 8 fishies so far. Fish are cool!!!!!

We are going to do paperwork on the house tomorrow. No, we have not come up with the $1900 yet. (there is still time) I do not know if I have said this before, but it is an owner fiance. The owner is considering giving us a loan with the trailer as collateral. Steve’s sister is buying some land behind her house, so she cant afford to buy the trailer back. I put the trailer on Craigslist. I have a a couple of inquires but no solid I want it, and I am buying it. We are trying not to stress over this. It will happen if it is meant to happen. I am trying to be patient, but it really is hard.

Gas prices are creeping slowly to the $4.00 mark. I know in some places it has already sailed over the $4.00 mark. Diesel is even worse almost $5.00. I wish Steve could do his deliveries in our car. It has so much better gas mileage, but I do not think we could get a Trane ac unit in our tiny cobalt. I really do not why our government can not help to lower gas prices. They are really hurting a lot of people. Some of us are having to choose between groceries or gas, but the sad thing is if you do not have gas most people can not get to work. How can we change this problem? I saw the assistant CEO or whatever he is from e@@on when they had their board member meeting in Dallas. The man had the nerve to say we need to cut back. Where have we not cut back from. This man makes millions every year. He is not hurting, Lets see him do what we do. Those million do not begin to compare to what the oil companies are making off of us. Everything is going up it is not just the gas prices it is food, clothing, health and beauty items, cleaning supplies, and a list that keeps getting longer and longer.
